NEW YORK WOMEN’S ENSEMBLE
New York Women's Ensemble (NYWE), created by Music Director and Conductor Virginia Luque, works in tandem with Music for Life NYC and is composed entirely of female virtuosi soloists who combine their musical excellence with a philanthropic mission to help others through the arts.
NYWE members hail from such renowned ensembles as The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, The New York City Opera Orchestra, The Baltimore Symphony, The Detroit Symphony, The Dallas Opera Orchestra, The St. Louis Symphony, and The New Jersey Symphony, among others.
The repertoire of NYWE encompasses a broad spectrum of music from classical to contemporary that will display the diversity of these talented musicians.
NYWE's focus is on showcasing their performers and guest artists while simultaneously raising awareness for select humanitarian causes that represent those who cannot speak for themselves. A percentage of the net profits from each performance will be donated to a specific charity or charities that have clearly demonstrated a devotion to helping under-served individuals and communities.
